Background Replacement

For my most recent assignment in my digital imaging course, I had to do background replacement. Scrolling down, you can see the original background image, original image, and then the edited version of the photograph. Enjoy!

I put my model in Paris! The original photograph, I took with a model in Pittsburgh on the top of a parking garage. I used the eraser tool, magic wand tool, and magnetic lasso tool to remove the background. I changed the color of the railing to make it blend in more with the photograph. I also had to change the coloring to match both of the images together.

This is the second photograph that I edited for my class. I wanted to put my model in the middle of a NYC street, instead of by a mural in Pittsburgh. I used the gaussian blur filter on the background image to show depth. I had to recolor both images so that they could blend together better. I used the magnetic lasso tool and eraser to remove the original background.
